Bode goes to jail? May be to rest. May be to come back a hero-omisoreism. Nobody goes to jail for corrupt enrichment and the only lesson from the legal judoism is " steal but not arrogantly".

Our lives today is organised arround crisis and the culture of positivism is dying. Forget our reactions to Bode saga. Corruption has become risk worth taking because of its higher acceptable probability of success. The masters bait and toss us in cycle. We better revolt to break this box or remain in congregration of the deads.

Our leaders like to show boat and glory about stupid things. The truth of the matter is that Ghana is forging ahead and the least Nigeria could do is to start moving again because we are currently at a stand still!

Its quite unfortunate that our nation was not represented in the un summit. We take solace in the fact that a change is coming to this nation that will require our individual contributions. Well done sir.

Thanks Jonah for your observations.

Indeed the MMIA is improving day by day and I hope this continues. But the main subject of my piece is the road which in my opinion is TERRIBLE. Being the first road to be used by foreigners into our country, we must make it better and cleaner than what it is now.

Toyin, thanks for this. I greatly respect most of what you have said here and agree that a lot needs to be done around the area after MMIA. However, I had a slightly better experience since I came into Nigeria 4 days ago after 2 years of absence and I feel while we could always condemn, it is important to also commend.

1. The Airport has improved with airconditioners in good working order. My wife flew into Nigeria recently and said on landing at the airport, it was so hot that it looked like the gates of hell. So thanks to the officials who made this happen, I hope it was not as a result of a non-performaing loan bcos some of the ACs had huge posters of a bank that promised "peace" but looks to be in pieces.

2. For the first time, I was allowed to get out of the airport without the usual banter from customs officers "wetin u bring come for us" as if you owe them something. My guess is that my "hard face" and the fact that I said I was coming from the UK may have made me a "difficult customer"

3. The cost of getting a baggage carrier had now reduced to N100 INSTEAD OF N200. Let me remind our officials that we are likely to be among the few countries that charge for baggage carriers at airports. This needs to stop and very quickly too. But unfortunately, I was told that since I paid with a 1 pound coin, there was no change so I ended up paying N250. I have made a note to carry some change with me next time but I sincerely hope that I do not have to pay next time.

Finally, I felt the road was not as bad as you mentioned and there were hardly any MOPOL on the stretch. They were usually an embarassement to us previously.

As for the branding project. It should be scrapped until we get a new Attorney General because the man is enough SHAME for this government and no rebranding project with a protection of corruption will suffice even in animal farm not to talk of our modern world.
